The underlying reason for prototyping, as quickly as possible, is to produce a simple working sample or example of your widget or service in order to quickly place it before prospective buyers to expeditiously determine a “passing” or “failing” grade. In other words, “prototyping” is used as a litmus test to help you start lean before injecting significant capital and time resource into a final “market-ready” product or service.

Quite simply, “prototyping” is a “working-smart – risk-minimizing” approach to testing before fully investing.
